Tamarind Juice (Sampaloc Juice)

This is a quickie and spontaneous recipe that I just want to share with you immediately. Sooooo good!

  1. Fresh ripe Tamarind (Sampaloc)
  2. Water
  3. Sugar
  4. Salt
  5. Ice
  1. Peel a bunch of Sampaloc fruit and remove veins (amount depends on how sour you'd like the drink to be...I used a lot for a 2-liter pitcher because I like it really sour =D)
  2. Mash out the flesh in a bowl of warm water using the back of a spoon or clean fingers (I did the latter)
  3. Sieve out the seeds and pulp (or not😉, I didn't, hehe)
  4. Add water
  5. Add sugar (again, amount depends on your preference)
  6. Add ice
  7. Serve in a glass with salt in the rim
